RSVP now for a celebratory community concert featuring performances by Azul Barrientos and the Guadalupe Dance Company with your San Antonio Philharmonic.

Join us at Plaza Guadalupe as we celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a free concert featuring local artist Azul Barrientos (of “Noche Azul“) and the Guadalupe Dance Company in performance with your San Antonio Philharmonic, conducted by Troy Peters.  Presented in partnership with Avenida Guadalupe Association.

The evening’s program includes light classics and several works of popular Mexican folk music, including newly-commissioned arrangements for Azul and the Philharmonic by local musician José Irizarry, as well as a world premiere of one of Azul’s original songs!

The colorful Guadalupe Dance Company is also not to be missed and will perform to live music of the orchestra on four well-known Mexican tunes.

Bring the whole family!: the event will include hands on activities for kids and for the young-of-heart of all ages.

7:00 – 8:00 pm = Pre-concert activities on the Plaza

8:00 – 8:15 pm = Opening remarks and presentation

8:15 – 9:30 pm = Concert performance
