Vadim Gluzman, leader and violin

Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman, internationally recognized as among today’s top performing artists, serves as both director and soloist with the SA Philharmonic for the evening. The concert opens with Russian composer Alfred Schnittke’s elegant multi-movement work in the style of Baroque music. Mozart’s dramatic Symphony No. 25, known as the “little G Minor symphony”, was written when he was just 17 years old. The SA Phil concludes with Beethoven’s sublime Violin Concerto featuring the unparallelled artistry of Gluzman.

Concert repertoire:
Alfred Schnittke (arr. Jolán Berta) – Suite in the Old Style for Strings
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Symphony No. 25
Ludwig van Beethoven – Violin Concerto
