Classics 7
San Antonio Philharmonic

Anthony Parnther, conductor
David Kaplan, piano

Join us for an evening of Romantic music, beginning with Coleridge-Taylor’s Ballade in A minor featuring lush melodies and dramatic lyricism. Mozart’s transitional style from Classical to Romantic can be heard in his dark and stormy Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor, considered one of his greatest, to be performed by the magnificent David Kaplan. Schumann’s Symphony No. 3, “Rhenish,” exemplifies the era through his tribute to the scenic Rhine River. Anthony Parnther, a conductor with an impressive career throughout the US, expertly leads the SA Phil on this vibrant journey.

Concert repertoire:
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor – Ballade in A Minor
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Piano Concerto No. 20
Robert Schumann – Symphony No. 3, “Rhenish”
